HARDBOARD
Hardboard is a compressed, composite board produced from wood fibres. It is similar to particleboard and medium-density fibreboard, but is more dense and much harder because it is made out of exploded wood fibres that have been highly compressed. 
Standard Hardboard, with a smooth surface on one face and a textured underside, can be used for wall paneling, ceilings and floors, or door panels, amongst other uses. It is available in various thicknesses, the most common being 3.2mm.
There are other types of hardboard available including flame retardant, duo faced, medium, oil-tempered, painted, perforated (also known as pegboard) and is also available as decorative grilles.
