ISPM15

All forms of solid wood packaging, used in global transport, is required to conform to the internationally agreed ISPM15 standard; a process to prove that the timber has been treated in order to eradicate any chance of infestations held within the timber.

There are many wood borne pests which pose a serious threat to forests and woodlands – ISPM15 provides a standard which, through heat treatment or fumigation, will minimise the risk that these pests are carried across borders by wooden pallets or packaging. Often resulting in costly delays, Timber pallets and packaging have been subject to plant health controls when crossing international borders.

CF Anderson is your ISPM15 passport provider, fully accredited to ISPM15 standards by TIMCON on behalf of the Forestry Commission and registered to apply the official mark of the programme to Wood Packing Material manufactured or repaired on our premises, certifying that the material meets prescribed phyto-sanitary (plant health)standards.

We can supply all softwoods to ISPM15, using the heat treatment method. For plant health purposes, heat treatment involves heating the timber to a minimum of 56 degrees C at the core of the wood, for a minimum of 30 minutes. Able to provide material on demand, we have a specialist printing machine to efficiently mark the timber.

A number of countries, including the USA, Australia and much of Europe are now insisting on this standard and this will continue to expand. ISPM15 timber helps prevent delays to your trade as well as protect the world’s forest from disease. Call us today to quote for your requirements on 0845 226 3011.
